A cordless telephone of innovative typology, this telephone designed for Alessi leaves aside the classical structure with the handset in an upright position and instead taps into the memory of domestic phones of the past, where the handset was always set on the base station in a horizontal position. Like other projects by this designer, lltelefonoalessi draws inspiration from the memory of everyone, but cross-pollinates it with other references, to create a wholly new object that gets its contemporary soul from a blend of past and present.

Disc-shaped like a flying saucer or a spaceship, this cordless phone suggests nothing more than the technology it contains, like the UFOs in science fiction movies, shells suspended in mid-air, that don't let the viewer see what's going on inside. Capable of managing up to six portable devices, all connected with each other like walkie-talkies, this object, available in black or white, is characterized by a transparent crystalline membrane covering the base station and the back of the handset, resembling a "skin", that makes the object look thicker and provides protection for its surfaces.
